We have a BALLER in our family!!! (who knew???)

Alexis decided she wanted to play basketball this year, athletics are intense these days and I try really hard to keep the kids active, by trying to get the kids to love to run, I figure you cant get "cut" or "benched" when you just head outside, lace up your shoes, and hit the pavement, its just you and your running. Well its not really working out as well as I hoped it would (even though they do love to run), but what do I know anyway?!? So YMCA ball was starting and I got her signed up. I could go on forever about this season, and I suppose I will. She started with very little skill, and with what I would say was a FANTASTIC coach, learned the basics very quickly, then she just got better at handling the ball, shooting, hitting her free throws, and with every basket scored in a game her confidence grew. She even had a game were she had 12 points. Turns out we LOVED watching her play, and loved watching her grow. She's our BALLER!!!

*a cute thing I don't want to forget...Lexi had this pink ball that she took to practice, and it turned out to be the one the coach always wanted to use, he loved that ball :-) So Lexi and I were trying to decide what we could do for the coach to say thanks, and she decided to buy him her exact pink ball(even offered up $10 of her own money to help buy it when I told her how much it cost). She wrote THANKS FOR BEING AN AWESOME COACH on it and had all the girls write a little message on it for him. At the end of season party she presented it to him, he was genuinely surprised and happy, he gave her a hug, and believe me he doesn't seem to be the hugging type. Loved it! (there is a cute picture of the coach, his son who always helped, Lexi, and the pink ball)

  1. I would also like to thank the Ranstrom driveway for getting Lexi where she is today...sometimes I think she is out there more than my own kids, which I love!! Girl Power and yes, girls can be ballers too :) Way to go Lex, wish we could have seen a game :(
